True, you can train it into a tree, but in Nature it will remain a bush, with low but upright dark branches and multi trunks. The leafstalks are long, often as long as the leaf itself. Vine Maple (Acer circinatum) Vine maple is easy to spot it’s not a tree, but a shrub.
